The 90-minute ferry trip between Victoria and the U.S. will run fewer times than usual at the start of next month due to “current travel demand”.
At a time when the Black Ball Ferry line regularly amps up trips aboard the M.V. Coho, it’ll instead stick to three daily sailings until June 25. As a result, the 9:30 p.m. sailings from Port Angeles on June 12 to 25 and the 6:10 a.m. sailings from Victoria on June 13 to 26 are cancelled.
Travellers with reservations on the cancelled sailings have been notified and will be offered alternative sailings, or a full refund, the ferry company said in a news release.
“Due to current travel demand, we have made the difficult decision to adjust our June sailing schedule,” Black Ball said. “We do not take this decision lightly, and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. We are deeply grateful for your continued support and understanding as we navigate through these unprecedented times.”
The M.V. Coho takes passengers and vehicles from its Belleville Street terminal to Port Angeles, Wash. daily in a year-round service.
