100 Men of Oceanside group donates $17K to Haven Society

Organization has donated more than $260K to local charities

The 100 Men of Oceanside group continues to give back to the community.

At its second quarterly meeting of 2025 on June 4, sponsored by Isle Golf Cars, the Morningstar Golf Club and Motiontide Digital Agency, the group awarded $17,000 to the Haven Society, which provides supports and services for the safety and integrity of women, families and individuals who have been impacted by violence and abuse.

This donation will assist the Haven Society maintain their program space in Oceanside and the operation of its 24/7 Crisis Line (250-756-0616 or Toll Free 1-888-756-0616).

Accepting the ‘cheque’ from Kim Burden of the 100 Men of Oceanside was Daylene Jones, executive director, Haven Society. The presentation of the cheque was witnessed by more than 100 attendees from both organizations.

The next meeting of the 100 Men of Oceanside is Sept. 3, starting at 7 p.m. at the Morningstar Golf Club, 525 Lowry's Rd., Parksville.  A social hour starting at 6 p.m. will precede the meeting and is open to all members, guests and men interested in participating in the organization.

100 Men of Oceanside is actively recruiting new members and any man residing in the Oceanside area who is interested in joining the 'work' of the 100 Men of Oceanside is welcome.  More information and joining instructions are available by going to the website: 100oceansidemen.ca, emailing info@100oceansidemen.ca or attending the September meeting and social.

The 100 Men of Oceanside group meets quarterly and its members commit to contribute $100 individually at each meeting to support an eligible Oceanside charitable group. A recipient charity may only receive a donation from 100 Men once every three years.  

Since its inception in December 2019, the group has contributed more than $260,000 to local charitable groups.
