Kids invited to get hooked on fishing in Enderby

Free family event casts out Sunday, July 20 at Kingfisher Interpretive Centre

Kingfisher Interpretive Centre is luring in families for a fun day to learn to fish.

The free family event casts out Sunday, July 20 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Enderby centre at 2550 Mabel Lake Rd.

Children 15 and under and families are invited to learn how to fish from local angling experts.

"We're at the pond helping kids catch and land fish," said Perry Wainwright, with the Kalamalka Fly Fishers. "We also do fly tying, we help them clean the fish, we tie knots."

Kids get a passport and can go around to the various stations to learn or sharpen their skills and hopefully catch dinner.

"There's lots for the kids and parents to do," said Wainwright, adding prizes will also be given out.

For more information call Wainwright at 250-308-1411.
