PHOTOS: Guests explore rural life through annual Ryder Lake Ramble

Homeowners invite public in to visit farms, gardens and more

Carloads of people took to the hills outside of Chilliwack on Saturday (June 14), for the Ryder Lake Ramble.

The event has been taking place for 24 years, giving visitors a glimpse at life in the rural, mountainous area. Visitors make a donation and are given a map to more than a dozen stops with various points of interest. They include pottery shops, hobby farms, homes with crafters, permaculture gardends and more.

Ryder Lake is an historic farming community on the outskirts of Chilliwack nestled in the shadow of Elk Mountain. The self-guided tour helps with maintenance and upgrades to the Ryder Lake Community Hall.
