Qualicum Community Baptist Church celebrated 30 years at its location on Beach Street this May.
The church marked the occasion on May 11 with a commemorative service presided by Pastor Lorne Willms and a Fascinator (formal headpiece) themed High Tea, according to member Liz Andrusiak, who added "the gentlemen did not wear headgear."
The building was designed by Qualicum Beach architect Sam Little in 1941 and is located next to the train station. The historical church served as a model for small churches throughout Canada, according to Andrusiak.
