The Qualicum Beach School of Dance will soon celebrate a major milestone — 25 years of inspiring young dancers and enriching the local arts community.
Founded and led by artistic director Shari Selva, the school has been a cornerstone of creativity and performing arts in Qualicum Beach since 1999, according to a news release.
To mark this silver anniversary, the school will present a special anniversary year-end show at the Qualicum Beach Civic Centre featuring four performances: June 19 at 7 p.m., June 20 at 7 p.m., June 21 at 2 p.m. and June 21 at 7 p.m.
This event will showcase performers of all ages and levels, highlighting their talent, discipline and passion.
“Reaching 25 years is incredibly meaningful,” said Selva, who founded the school with the goal of creating a welcoming, empowering space for all performers young to old. “To have built this in a small town, and to watch so many students grow into confident performers and community members — it’s truly an honour and privilege.”
The performances promise to be both a nostalgic look back and a step forward, featuring a mix of ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, musical theatre and more.
