A 108 Mile Ranch man has been arrested after several search warrants were executed in the area.
According to a news release compiled by Sgt. Brian Lamb, the 100 Mile House RCMP and the Cariboo Chilcotin Crime Reduction Unit conducted simultaneous search warrants on July 3 in relation to controlled substances at two residences in the 4800 block of Highway 97 in 108 Mile Ranch.
RCMP said they seized suspected cocaine as well as evidence of drug trafficking. RCMP added that one adult male was arrested but later released, and the investigation is ongoing.
Evidence of Impaired driving, one driver refuses breath test
The 100 Mile House RCMP caught two drivers for impaired driving from July 1 to 8, and one of the drivers was penalized after refusing to give a breath test.
On July 2, the RCMP said they were conducting a patrol on Horse Lake Road when a vehicle was observed not maintaining its own lane of travel. RCMP stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver whom they said showed symptoms of alcohol consumption. RCMP said the driver refused to provide a sample of his breath for alcohol testing, which resulted in the driver being issued an immediate roadside prohibition from driving for 90 days. The vehicle was also impounded for 30 days.
On July 4, the RCMP said they were patrolling Highway 97 near Exeter Station Road when they observed a vehicle quickly turning off the road, stopping and turning its lights off. RCMP spoke with the driver and evidence of alcohol consumption were observed. A breath test using an approved screening device was conducted and a warning was given to the driver who was also given an immediate roadside prohibition for three days.
On July 5, the RCMP were patrolling near Alpine Avenue when they observed a vehicle exceeding the posted speed limit. After stopping the vehicle, the RCMP said they observed an open alcohol container inside the vehicle. The driver displayed symptoms of alcohol consumption and a breath test was conducted using an approved screening device. RCMP said the result was a fail, leading to the driver being issued an immediate roadside prohibition from driving for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
Driver caught with no insurance, failing to comply with an order
On July 3, RCMP conducted patrols on Horse Lake Rd and, after doing checks, found a driver operating a vehicle without valid insurance. The vehicle was stopped and RCMP said they found the vehicle was subject to a previous vehicle inspection order which was not completed. The driver was issued violation tickets for no insurance and failure to comply with an order. The vehicle was impounded.
Driver taken to hospital after collision on Highway 97 while trying to avoid deer
On July 2, RCMP received a report of a single vehicle collision on Highway 97 near 90 Mile House. RCMP and EHS attended and found a vehicle had gone off-road after attempting to avoid a collision with a deer. The lone occupant of the vehicle was treated by EHS and taken to hospital for injuries that are not believed to be serious.
Mailboxes damaged on Telqua Dr
On July 3, RCMP received reports of damaged Canada Post mailboxes located on the 4000 block of Telqua Dr. RCMP said they did not know when this occurred and whether any mail was taken. Those concerned with the potential loss of mail should contact Canada Post directly.
Storm damages building on Tatton Station Rd; no injuries
On July 5, RCMP received a report of a structure damage on Tatton Station Road after a storm passed through. RCMP attended and noted damage to the roof of the building. The structure was cleared and all persons were accounted for with no injuries.
Magnussen Rd property RV windows smashed
On July 3, RCMP received a report of mischief to an RV parked on a property on Magnussen Road. RCMP said the RV's windows were smashed but it had not been entered into. RCMP said they did not know when the event occurred.
Two properties subject to break and enters
On July 5, RCMP received a report of a break and enter in progress at the 3000 block of Emerald Cr at 4 a.m.
RCMP said no one was located when they arrived on scene, but evidence was found that the house had been entered. RCMP said it is believed three people had entered the property. The individuals were described as a "male wearing camo clothing, a male wearing white hoody, and a female who appeared older in age."
RCMP said it was not determined whether any items were taken.
On July 7, RCMP received a report of a break and enter to a residence on the 5000 block of Horse Lake Rd. RCMP attended and confirmed an entry was made into a shop and a house. RCMP said no one was found inside and it was not known what was taken. RCMP said the incident possibly occurred at 12:30 p.m.
