Police arrested a man in Williams Lake regarding drug trafficking on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.
The Cariboo-Chilcotin Crime Reduction Unit (CC-CRU) and Williams Lake Detachment made the arrest in connection with a Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA) investigation, said Cpl. Madonna Saunderson, North District RCMP in a news release.
"After evidence was obtained, one person, an adult man, was arrested regarding drug trafficking. A search of the suspect incidental to arrest yielded scales, packaging materials, contraband cigarettes, score sheet(s) and approximately one ounce of suspected fentanyl."
Obtaining a search warrant, RCMP searched a vehicle associated to the suspect and seized approximately three ounces of suspected fentanyl, multiple edged and blunt force weapons and additional evidence consistent with drug trafficking, Saunderson noted, adding the investigation is ongoing and the matter will be forwarded to BC Prosecution Services for review of potential charges.
"Williams Lake RCMP, including CC-CRU are committed to targeted enforcement focused at the drug activity in our community," said Insp. Lake OIC Williams Lake RCMP.
