Video: Mounties execute search warrants at Quesnel Motel

The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been laid

Quesnel RCMP executed three simultaneous search warrants at the Quesnel Riverfront Inn on Jan. 9 after a week-long investigation into drug trafficking. Quesnel RCMP had support from a police dog from Prince George and the Cariboo-Chilcotin Crime Reduction Unit from Williams Lake.

Three units were searched and Mounties seized drugs, cash, packaging material and two pistols, Sgt. Clay Kronebusch with the Quesnel RCMP said.

No charges have been laid and the investigation is ongoing.

Kronebusch said the RCMP are committed to reducing community harm through targeted enforcement.

"Those that choose to sell drugs in a motel or hotel environment place the other tenants at risk of violent crimes," he said in an emailed statement to The Observer. "In addition, the traffickers are distributing their toxic drug supply to the vulnerable, where there is no legal, or safe place to consume in the vicinity."
