Fire crews respond to flames, black smoke at commercial structure

Surrey fire crews were busy Sunday morning battling a reported two-alarm blaze in a commercial structure.

Around 7:45 a.m. Sunday (May 4), Surrey firefighters responded to reports of a fire in the 13300-block of 71A Ave.

According to one person at the scene, firefighters arrived to plumes of black smoke and flames showing from the rear of the single-storey business. 

A second alarm was reportedly called, bringing additional crews to assist.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
