Motor vehicle incidents and recovery of stolen goods were among the 50 calls for service the 100 Mile RCMP responded to during the week of Feb. 20 - 26, said Sgt. Brian Lamb of the 100 Mile House RCMP.
On Monday, Feb. 25 officers were conducting a patrol on Horse Lake Road when they encountered a man pushing a cart with a large flatscreen TV inside it near Blackstock Road. Officers determined the flatscreen had been taken from a local business and seized it. RCMP are consulting with the business to see if charges of theft are warranted.
That same day officers also responded to a theft from a vehicle on Blackstock Road. At some point, an unlocked vehicle that was parked at a residence was entered and money was taken.
Due to a sudden flurry of snow on Monday, RCMP also responded to two motor vehicle incidents. The first was a single-vehicle rollover on Highway 97 near the Exeter Station Truck Route.
Lamb said RCMP and Emergency Health Services responded to reports of a vehicle in the ditch on its roof. The driver, who was the only occupant, was found uninjured.
Meanwhile, near the 108 Heritage Site, a vehicle collided with a cement barricade, partially blocking the south lane. Officers attended and the vehicle was towed from the roadway. No injuries were reported and the sudden change in weather, creating icy conditions, is believed to be the main factor.
