Ready, set, run.

At this year’s Spring Fling at Sidney Elementary School, they’re adding a fun new element to the annual community event and major fundraiser on June 6: a mascot race.

The first-ever Peninsula Annual Mascot Exhibition Race (PAMER) will feature local community mascots competing for glory and bragging rights. RCMP Safety Bear will be the Mascot of Ceremonies.

"We are incredibly excited to host the Spring Fling again this year," said Harninder Jacquot,  Sidney Elementary School PAC president. "It's a fantastic opportunity for our community to come together, have fun and support our students. The addition of PAMER promises to bring even more excitement and laughter to the event."

Organized by the Sidney Elementary School Parent Advisory Council (PAC), the Spring Fling will run from 5 to 8 p.m. at the school, offering a smorgasbord of activities including food trucks, classic games and the ever-popular cake walk.

Attendees can also participate in silent auctions, raffles and 50/50 draws, both onsite and online.

As the PAC's largest fundraiser of the year, the Spring Fling aims to support various school initiatives, including celebrations and enriching field trips for the students.

Sidney School’s PAC works to enhance the educational experience for all students through fundraising, community events and advocacy.
