Residents living around a stretch of Fifth Street in Peachland will be without water on Thursday, June 12.
The planned disruption is necessary to complete water service improvements for Phase 2 of the Peachland Senior Support Society project at 4441 Fifth Street. Water will be shut off between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
A precautionary boil water notice will be in effect and will remain in place until two consecutive water quality tests confirm the system is safe. During this time, residents are advised to boil water for at least one minute before using it for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, washing food, or making ice.
Once water service is restored, residents might notice air in the pipes, discoloured water, or sediment. If that happens, simply run cold water taps until the water clears up.
