Canada Day fun in Parksville will kick off with the Shriner’s pancake breakfast followed by the popular Parksville Canada Day parade and activities in the Parksville Community Park.

The Parksville Outdoor Theatre will feature all Vancouver Island bands from noon to 6:30 p.m., according to a news release by the City of Parksville.

The bands will include the Mount Arrowsmith Pipe Band, Time Well Wasted, Sarah Smith and The Joints.

There will be activities and live music at the waterfront gazebo and gathering plaza from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. The day will also feature a food truck festival from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

"We’re celebrating Canada’s 158th, the City of Parksville’s 80th birthday and recognizing the 50th anniversary of the Mount Arrowsmith Pipe Band," the city said in the release. "We look forward to coming together on Canada Day to celebrate and shine a light on our country and whatever it is that makes you proud!"
