Castlegar Chamber issues scam warning

The Chamber of Commerce does not sell its contact lists

The Castlegar Chamber of Commerce has issued a warning after hearing reports of a suspicious email circulating that claims to be connected to the Chamber.

The email includes the subject line "Follow-up regarding the Distribution/Members list."

The emails originate from different addresses including Daisy Moore at daisy73.moore@gmail.com. It offers to sell a "Distribution/Members list" related to the Castlegar & District Chamber of Commerce.

"Please be advised that this email is not from our official organization and is likely spam or a phishing attempt," said Tammy Verigin-Burk in an an emailed statement. "We recommend not engaging with this email or responding to any unsolicited messages offering to sell contact lists or other similar services."

If you have received this email or any similar communication, you should delete it and refrain from clicking any links or sharing any personal information.
