For its June meeting the Central Coast Regional District will be meeting at Shearwater Indigenous Wilderness Resort on Thursday, June 13.

The meeting will be held in-person and not live-streamed, but recorded and posted at a later date due to uncertainties around whether there will be adequate internet service to broadcast at the time of the meeting.

There are plans to host a meet and greet with the board members on Wednesday, June 12, the night before the meeting from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the room above the Fisherman’s Bar and Grill with light snacks available.

Emails and notices will be sent out to alert local residents.

During the May 16 regular meeting, the board approved the meeting and open house location.

A report prepared by Meg Schadt, administrative coordinator noted Area A director Steve Emery, Area B director Travis Hall, Area C director Jayme Kennedy and appointed Area E director Thomas Tallio planned to attend the meeting.

Tallio was appointed at the April 24 in-camera meeting to serve as director of Area E until a by-election has been called and a permanent replacement has been elected to replace Jim Ward who resigned in April.

Shearwater Resort is owned and operated by Heiltsuk Nation on Denny Island.
