Central Saanich families celebrate new splash pad at Centennial Park

Centennial Park in Central Saanich is now home to a brand new, splash pad, offering a fun and accessible way for families to cool off this summer.

Officially opened on May 25, the $250,000 project is already proving to be a popular destination, drawing crowds of children eager to enjoy the water features.

"As I drive past it, I happen to glance over and there are frequently numerous children playing in the splash pad area," said Bob White, past-president of the Central Saanich Lions Club.

The Lions Club helped fun the project, donating $50,000 towards its completion.

"We extend a heartfelt thank you to the Lions for their contributions to Centennial Park over the years and their ongoing support of our community,” Coun. Niall Paltiel said.

The splash pad's design emphasizes inclusivity, featuring full wheelchair accessibility to welcome children of all ages and abilities.

Exciting water elements, including a dumping bucket and push-button activated spray features, are sure to provide hours of entertainment.

The new splash pad aligns with the district's commitment to improving recreational facilities and offering high-quality amenities for both residents and visitors.
