A home has gone up in flames on Vernon's Bella Vista Road.
Fire crews could be seen tending to the blaze in the 6700 block of Bella Vista Saturday morning, June 28. Vernon Fire Rescue Services (VFRS) had one fire truck and a couple firefighters at the scene around 9:45 a.m.
VFRS responded to the fire around 2 a.m. Upon arrival they found a house with a fully involved fire on the main floor extending to the roof, city spokesperson Jessica Hewitt said in an email Saturday afternoon.
VFRS responded with two engines and two tenders and called for mutual aid from BX/Swan Lake Fire Department, which brought an additional tender.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The home appears to be a total loss, with extensive damage and most of the roof collapsed.
