People can pull the trigger and crank the throttle at a Vernon Fish and Game Club competition later this month.
The club is holding a team off-road vehicle biathlon at its shooting range (202 Bardolph Lake Forest Service Road), starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 21.
The event, aptly named Scoot and Shoot, is a four-stage competition consisting of two target shooting stages and two off-road vehicle stages.
No previous firearm experience, training or licence is required to take part.
People can bring their dirt bike, quad or side-by-side to ride the off-road vehicle stages, and the Vernon Fish and Game Club will provide the firearms for the shooting stages.
The best combined score across all four stages wins. There will also be a number of random prize draws.
Registration is required and can be done by visiting vernonrangeday.ca, where more information can also be found.
People can register as an adult team (two adults) or a youth team (one adult and one youth 19 and under).
Eye and ear protection will be provided, as well as a home-cooked lunch.
Pets and private firearms are not permitted.
The shooting range is a four-kilometre drive from Highway 6 in Lavington. Follow the signs on Noble Canyon Road and Bardolph Lake FSR.
