Jehovah’s Witnesses will return to Victoria this weekend for their annual three-day convention at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre, expected to draw more than 4,000 attendees.
Local spokesperson Jeremy Bradley said the event, running from June 13 to 15, is meant to offer attendees a place to connect in their faith.
“The annual convention series is always a highlight, and we are excited to attend this year’s event in Victoria,” he said. “This year’s convention theme is specifically intended to help those in attendance find meaning and purpose in their worship.”
Highlights of the event will include the baptism of local candidates on Saturday and the screening of a multi-part video series on the life and ministry of Christ.
Jehovah’s Witnesses organized more than 6,000 similar events worldwide last year, drawing nearly 11 million attendees.
The Victoria convention is open to the public and runs from 9:20 a.m. to late afternoon each day. Full details can be found at jw.org.
