Starting Tuesday, June 24, the intersection at Kane and Valley roads will be closed for roundabout construction that’s expected to last until late October.
A detour will be in place via Glenmore Road, and the city is asking motorists to plan ahead and consider alternate routes if possible.
The closure is part of a project aimed at improving traffic flow and safety for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians. Along with the new roundabout, the work will include better lighting, designated bike lanes and upgraded stormwater infrastructure.
A temporary pathway will be set up to allow people walking or biking to pass through the construction zone safely.
Hours of construction are 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. Some work may take place in the evenings, overnight or on weekends.
