Kelowna RCMP looking for witnesses of alleged assault at Mushroom Beach

The Kelowna RCMP are asking for any witnesses of an alleged assault at Mushroom Beach on Friday, June 20 around 7:50 p.m. to please step forward.

A night out at the beach led to an altercation and an alleged assault that the Kelowna RCMP are now investigating.

On Friday, June 20 at about 7:50 p.m., the RCMP received multiple reports of an alleged assault at Mushroom Beach. 

According to witnesses, a verbal altercation between individuals at the beach turned physical, resulting in one person being transported to hospital. Due to the Privacy Act, the extent of the injuries in the alleged assault cannot be disclosed.

Officers investigating the incident are asking for any witnesses who haven't yet stepped forward. Additionally, the RCMP is also looking for any dash camera footage or video surveillance from Mushroom Beach or the area near the intersection of Lake Avenue and McDougall Street between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Friday night.
