A 34-year-old man faces mischief charges after a rock was thrown through the window of a Colwood residence early Wednesday (May 25).
West Shore RCMP was called to the 3000-block of Clement Road shortly after 12:30 a.m. for what turned out to be the latest in a series of rocks thrown through windows of homes in that neighbourhood. Officers subsequently learned of homes hit on Allendale and Owens roads and damage to vehicles in this area believed to have taken place around the same time.
Later that morning, around 7:30 a.m. West Shore RCMP arrested Christopher Elliot, who faces charges of mischief over $5,000 and remains in custody, the agency said in a news release.
“This arrest was the result of tireless work by the frontline officers and the collaborative support from West Shore’s Investigative Support Team, whose efforts led to the identification of additional victims and witnesses,” said Sgt. Kevin Shaw, who oversees the West Shore’s Investigative Support Team.
“The Investigative Support Team was created in 2024 to supplement and support more complex or time-consuming frontline investigations. This is a great example of those two units working together to investigate a rash of damage to vehicles and property in support of the eventual arrest of Mr. Elliott.”
