A medieval -themed weekend is scheduled at Heritage Acres in Saanichton from May 31.

Get ready for a day of historical revelry at the Sealion Medieval Market on Saturday, May 31 at Heritage Acres in Saanichton.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., immerse yourself in a world of knights, bards and handcrafted treasures.

Over 30 local fantasy and medieval-themed vendors will be showcasing their wares, offering everything from armour and weaponry to fantastical trinkets and artisan goods.

The market overlooks a dynamic battlefield where armoured combatants from the Barony of Seagirt (Victoria) will clash with the Barony of Lions Gate (Vancouver) in thrilling sword fighting tourneys and full combat battles.

For those seeking a different kind of challenge, archery and axe-throwing tournaments will be held nearby.

Roaming bards will fill the air with music and a live theatre troupe will improvise comedic skits throughout the day.

Admission is $10 for adults and free for those 17 and under (cash only).

Accessible parking is available onsite, with general parking on the street and at Michell's Farm Market.

Prepare to dress up and celebrate history. Horses and dogs on leash are not permitted and there will be no potable water available on-site.
