A new, 150-room hotel has officially opened in Chilliwack.
The Marriott hotel in Chilliwack at 43955 Industrial Way opened its doors on Thursday, June 12.
"This is a significant and exciting day for the Chilliwack community and the entire Fraser Valley," Jeff Krivoshen, chief operating officer for the P.R. Hotels Group of Companies stated in a June 13 press release. "The opening of this dual-brand Marriott hotel addresses a growing demand for high-quality accommodations in the region."
Construction on the six-storey hotel began around the fall of 2023. It sits on a 4.5 acre parcel of land called Fraser Gateway Centre, former site of the Best Western.
Strategically positioned at the Lickman Road interchange, the property combines two of Marriott’s brands under one roof. The hotel features 90 guest rooms under the Fairfield Inn brand, ideal for short-term business and leisure travellers, and 60 spacious suites under the TownePlace Suites brand, designed for guests planning longer stays, according to P.R. Hotels Group.

The Fairfield Inn portion provides amenities such as a complimentary hot breakfast, 24/7 fitness centre, outdoor pool and hot tub, and complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. The TownePlace Suites part of the hotel is being billed as providing "all the comforts of home" as each suite features a fully equipped kitchen, spacious living areas, and flexible workspaces.
The dual-brand model also includes a functional meeting space, business centre, guest laundry, and sundry shop.
P.R. Hotels Group added that the new Marriott hotel in Chilliwack is a "key component of the continued growth and development in Chilliwack, providing much-needed accommodation options to support the region's thriving tourism and business sectors."
