Earlier this month, Oak Bay welcomed a new director of engineering and public works.
With over 15 years of experience, Steve Rennick, who previously served as Oak Bay's deputy director of engineering and public works, as well as its manager of engineering services, will head the department, which oversees the development and renewal of the district's infrastructure and utilities.
Oak Bay made the announcement on Dec. 4.
“Mr. Rennick has worked tirelessly alongside our director of engineering, Ed Robertson, to grow the engineering and public works department to meet the needs of our community,” Selina Williams, Oak Bay's chief administrative officer, said in a news release. “Steve’s commitment to excellence, innovation and creativity will be invaluable in leading the team in the months and years to come.”
The director expressed excitement about his promotion.
“Leading this team is a great responsibility and one that I am excited to take on,” Rennick said in the same news release. “I look forward to working with the talented people across the district to maintain and grow our infrastructure and services to serve the residents of Oak Bay.”
