Oak Bay police ask residents to be aware of suspicious activity and make a call after a man was arrested inside a home that wasn’t his on Tuesday (July 16).

A man faces charges of breaking and entering after three separate reports of a man acting suspiciously in the Nottingham Road area, Oak Bay police said in a news release.

Officers were called July 15 about a man attempting to get into a home on Nottingham Road. While investigating, police received a second call in the same neighbourhood of a man matching the first call's description in another resident’s backyard.

"The man fled the area when advised the police were being contacted and OBPD was unable to locate the suspicious man," the release said.

At around 7:30 a.m. on July 16, police attended a call on Cadboro Bay Road where a man matching the descriptions from the first two incidents was located inside a residence by the homeowner.

Police arrested a man who was held for bail on charges of break and enter.

"Residents are asked to be aware of suspicious activity in their area and to call police as soon as possible to report suspicious activity or persons," noted the release.
