Oak Bay Police respond to string of theft, breaking and entering reports

Oak Bay Police received reports of two thefts between April 13 to 20 that took place on the same street near Firefighter’s Park. 

At approximately 9:10 a.m. on April 13, Oak Bay PD were called regarding around $2,000 worth of power tools stolen from a pickup truck overnight in the 1700 block of Lulie St. The tools included a job light, a vacuum, four 9A batteries and a reciprocating saw. 

Around 8:24 a.m. the following day, police received another report on a Nissan Leaf stolen from the 1800 block of Lulie St. The vehicle was discovered missing around 7:45 a.m. and later recovered by Shawnigan RCMP without any visible damage on April 15, near Cobble Hill Road.  

On April 14, Oak Bay PD received a call around 11:12 a.m. about a break and enter at an apartment complex in the 1400 block of Beach Dr. 

“Several storage lockers, the building’s electrical room and unlocked vehicles in the parkade were broken into,” said the police department in a news release. “Stolen items include a red 2020 EBGO-model e-bike, bicycle helmets, pumps and a Department of National Defence firefighter badge."
