RDN continues support for Arrowsmith Community Justice Society

RDN board approves one-year agreement and $30K grant

The Regional District of Nanaimo has endorsed a one-year agreement with the Arrowsmith Community Justice Society.

The RDN board, at its meeting on March 25, approved the new agreement that included an annual operating grant of $30,000.

The ACJS has been a providing restorative justice serves to the Oceanside RCMP Detachment since 1999, following a collaboration with the City of Parksville, Town of Qualicum Beach, the RDN and Crown counsel to develop the program.

Trained facilitators work with people impacted by a particular crime to engage in a planned and co-ordinated process designed to allow all voices to be heard, which results in resolutions that repair harm done to community and individuals.
