In support of the Eagle Valley Community Support Society's latest fundraising efforts, SASCU is investing up to $16,000 in matching funds.

SASCU Credit Union is investing in Sicamous with its support of Eagle Valley Community Support Society's (EVCSS) latest fundraising campaign.

The local financial institution has committed to matching public donations dollar for dollar to a maximum of $16,000, with EVCSS hoping the community it serves will get onboard and support the initiative. The society has been an integral part of the Sicamous area since forming in 1992, and is now a hub for food security, family resources and its Better at Home program for seniors.

"SASCU has been a true community partner since the beginning of Eagle Valley Community Support Society," EVCSS executive director Janet McClean Senft said in a media release. "We are honoured by the value they have placed on the work that we have done and thrilled to have this wonderful opportunity to make a significant impact on the ever growing costs of providing needed services.

"The saying 'it takes a village' couldn't be more apt, as every donation will make a difference."

She added that there will be a number of fun activities to engage the community in the fundraiser, and will have the Matching Funds Campaign Booth at local events. See the EVCSS Facebook page for more information for upcoming activities and ways to donate.

"EVCSS provides important services and programs to the Sicamous community, providing resources and support to the area's most vulnerable," SASCU Community Relations and Sponsorship Committee chair Curtis Slingerland said. "We support EVCSS with this creative initiative to obtain sustainability and growth of the organizaion's ability to serve this growing community for at least another 30 years."
