View Royal Fire Rescue has appointed Kris Malinosky as its new assistant fire chief. 

View Royal Fire Rescue has appointed Kris Malinosky as its new assistant fire chief. 

Malinosky brings 27 years of firefighting experience, having previously served with View Royal Fire Rescue from 1997 to 2002. Most recently, he held the role of assistant fire chief with Oak Bay Fire.

Fire Chief Paul Hurst expressed his excitement about Malinosky’s return, noting his strong work ethic and leadership. 

“His leadership skills make him a valuable addition to the View Royal Fire management team,” said Hurst. “Malinosky has a progressive vision and the energy to deliver results that will build on the existing and future fire service models in the West Shore.”

Malinosky, who spent over two decades at Oak Bay Fire Department, shared his enthusiasm for joining View Royal team.

“The strong culture and dedicated staff in View Royal and the West Shore make this an exciting opportunity, and I look forward to serving the community once again,” he said.

In his new role, Malinosky will support emergency response, training programs, and fire prevention initiatives, ensuring the safety and well-being of View Royal residents.
