UPDATE: The suspect wanted for assault by choking has been arrested, say Nanaimo RCMP.
PREVIOUSLY POSTED: The Nanaimo RCMP is asking for the public’s help to find a 36-year-old man wanted for assault by choking, uttering threats and two counts of disobeying a release order.
The charges stem from an incident in early 2024.
According to a Nanaimo RCMP press release issued Wednesday, April 3, the suspect is considered violent, may be in possession of firearms, is extremely unpredictable and, if seen, people should not approach him and instead call 911.
He is described as a 5-foot-9, 170 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345.
