Tristan Chandra of Chilliwack has secured a spot on the Vancouver Whitecaps U15 team.

Chilliwack Tristan Chandra has secured a spot on the Vancouver Whitecaps U15 team.

The 2012-born player is among the youngest of his teammates, and has been playing since he was six years old.

His father, Dee Chandra, said it's been a "remarkable achievement" for his son and a proud moment for their family. His newest achievement "reflects not just natural talent, but years of dedication, training, and passion for the game."

“This is just the beginning of his dreams,” said his father. “He’s worked incredibly hard for this, and we couldn’t be prouder.”

In an email to The Progress, he gave special thanks to the coaches and mentors who helped guide him, especially Victorious One-on-One of Chilliwack, who played a key role in teaching and strengthening his skills.

Chandra began his soccer journey with Chilliwack FC, then Tzechten FC, and then moved to Surrey FC, before being secured by the Whitecaps.

He was also selected to play for Elite XI Canada, representing the nation on the world stage in the UK, his father noted, along with other major international competitions. He played in a tournament in Las Vegas, and was invited to Spain to join one of the United States’ top-ranked elite academy football clubs, where they made it to the quarter finals.
