Keremeos and other local residents will need to go to Penticton or Princeton if they are in need of emergency services on Wednesday, June 25.
From 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., the emergency department at the South Similkameen Health Centre will be closed. A reason for the temporary closure was not disclosed.
However, all other impatient services will be available.
During the 10 hours, patients are asked to go to either Penticton Regional Hospital or Princeton General Hospital.
"People in the community who need life-threatening emergency care (i.e., chest pains, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding) should always call 9-1-1 for transport to the nearest available and appropriate facility," reminds Interior Health.
This is the second time in three days the emergency department has temporarily closed.
