Update 3 p.m.

Quesnel RCMP told Black Press Media a single-vehicle rollover occurred on Highway 97 between Marguerite and Macallister.

The vehicle, a pickup truck, had a driver and a passenger. The passenger received minor injuries and the driver was trapped in the vehicle, Mounties said. The road was closed while rescue crews got the driver out of the vehicle.

The driver was taken to the hospital by helicopter with non-life threatening injuries.

Update 1 p.m.:

The highway has reopened following the collision.

Original:

Highway 97 is closed in both directions between Lagerquist Road and Hill Road for 9.2 km. The closure is just north of McLeese Lake.

A collision has caused debris on the road, which is the cause for the highway closure.

The next update is expected to be at 12:30 p.m.
