To the editor:
Re: COLUMN: Canada’s not perfect, but it’s not broken either.
Anything “imperfect” is always understood to be “broken.” Can any nation be perfect? No.
However Canada is broken by virtue of the fact that we see-saw between two racist parties, the Liberals and the Conservatives, both of them oppressing First Nations since the first day of Confederation.
Canada has a broken and erratic school system because it is different across provincial lines.
Canada allows worker oppression and the nation ignores the homeless and water advisory issues.
Canada pretends to honour First Nations while ignoring them when making decisions that affect all of us, not just the thieves whom we refer to as MLAs or MPs.
Canada has never worked together in all of history.
