OMBA to host U15 provincial championships

The Oceanside Minor Baseball Association is excited to get their 2025 season underway. They held their season opener with the annual parade of teams at the Springwood Park diamond on May 3. The day featured games from the mosquito division to U18 levels.

"We're excited to get everything up and running this season," said OMBA president Krista Smith. "We just have under 300 kids this year, which is fantastic for the kids that are here. We're growing more and more."

This season, the OMBA features a strong mosquito division.

"We have five teams in the mosquito division," said Smith. "We have three peewees, two bantams and one U18 team this year, which is really, really strong."

One of the major events the OMBA is preparing for is the U15 BC Provincials Baseball Championships that they will host in August.

"We are super, super excited for that," said Smith. "I'd like to have everybody come out and see that."
