Bowling an eight-game average at the provincial finals in Salmon Arm has earned a Vernon bowler a trip a little further east.
Colton Dranchuk rolled an eight-game total of 1,830 at the Youth Challenge B.C. Finals at Lakeside Bowl in Salmon Arm Nov. 9. Youth bowlers from across the province competed in the eight-game scratch tournament.
Dranchuk's numbers were good enough to earn one of the spots on the three boys/three girls B.C. team that will compete at the national championships in Calgary in 2025.
The other bowlers on the provincial squad come from Port Coquitlam, Aldergrove, Duncan, and Prince George.
Dranchuk's Lincoln Lanes colleague Talan Rachwalski earned a silver medal in pins over average. Rachwalski rolled 253 pins over his 136 average.
• Lakeside Bowl and Lincoln Lanes teamed up to host the Youth Bowling Council (YBC) Express Provincial Singles 24 hours later on Nov. 10.
Lincoln Lanes hosted the Bantams (8-10 years-old) and Juniors (11-14) while Lakeside entertained the Seniors division (15-19).
Charleigh Lemay was the only Lincoln Lanes bowler to return with a medal. She won a bronze in the Senior Girls event, rolling an eight-game total of 1,820 for a 227 average.
