Victoria man surprised to learn he authored 1966 note in B.C. beach time capsule

Letter found 56 years later by Rathtrevor Beach tourists

Two cousins printed a note on Thanksgiving Day 1966, placed it in a small glass bottle and buried it in the sand at Rathtrevor Beach.

Nearly 56 years later, a family of tourists was amazed to find it deep under the high-tide line.

Dick Brown, who was 16 at the time, said he has fond memories of spending holidays at the Beach Acres resort in Parksville with family.
