In advance of its annual general meeting, the Bella Coola Music Festival Society is hosting an open mic, Thursday, Nov. 9.
Taking place at the Mountain Lodge Bistro, doors open at 6:30 p.m., open mic from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., followed by the meeting from 8 to 9 p.m.
“All are welcome to attend any part of the evening,” said president Rose Clark. “Attendees will be treated to wine and cheese.”
Clark said the festival committee would love to hear feedback from the comunity on the festival as well as recruit more members and fill a couple of seats on the board.
Last year’s open mic attracted a great turnout of musicians and it is hoped the same thing will happen this year.
“All types of performances are welcome,” she said, as she encouraged people who are interested to arrive early to sign up.
Additionally, the festival society is planning a fundraising event for Saturday, Dec. 16.
“We have not worked out the details yet, but it’s going to be a themed trivia night and silent auction,” Clark said. “Folks should look forward to this.”
