Albert Walsh was recognized with the 'Quilt of Valour' for his 42 years of service in the RCAF, at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 76 in Qualicum Beach on May 30.

Albert Walsh was recently presented with the 'Quilt of Valour' for his 42 years of service with the Royal Canadian Air Force across the world.

Walsh, a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 76, was presented with the quilt by mid-Island representative Joan Irving on May 30.

Quilts of Valour is a society that started in 2006 when an Edmonton quilter presented quilts to three Canadian Armed Forces members who were recovering in hospital from injuries they received in Afghanistan, as a way of saying "thank you" and providing them some comfort.
