Albert Walsh was recently presented with the 'Quilt of Valour' for his 42 years of service with the Royal Canadian Air Force across the world.
Walsh, a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 76, was presented with the quilt by mid-Island representative Joan Irving on May 30.
Quilts of Valour is a society that started in 2006 when an Edmonton quilter presented quilts to three Canadian Armed Forces members who were recovering in hospital from injuries they received in Afghanistan, as a way of saying "thank you" and providing them some comfort.
