For the second day, a search is underway for an elder missing in the Chilco Lake area.
Maria Myers was last seen 48 hours ago at the Dadaben Camp in Nemiah Valley along Chilco Lake.
Jimmy Lulua said he and a handful of others set out on horseback Monday searching the area, while others searched the roads on quads.
“Last night it was cold, only five degrees, so yes I’m worried about her,” Lulua said Tuesday morning. “It’s such a big area to search.”
Lulua said her family has been in contact with the RCMP. Members of the West Chilcotin Search and Rescue arrived Monday.
Tuesday morning (July 23) Lulua put a call out for horse riders and anyone willing to help search the area. He added there is space at the rodeo grounds or his home to keep horses.
