Residents will have to detour a portion of Tronson Road in July, as city crews begin maintenance work.
Beginning on Tuesday, July 2 at 7 a.m., a road closure will be in effect at 7210 Tronson Road, between Old Stamp Road and Kinsmen Beach.
City crews will be working to upgrade the water main for future pumphouse construction to connect to the Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) utility.
Hours of construction will take place between 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, with the possibility of extended hours and weekend works. It is expected to be completed by the end of July.
Select bus stops along Transit Route 8 will be temporarily closed: Tronson Road and Old Stamp Mill, Tronson Road and Bella Vista Road.
The developer-led pumphouse construction is for Frind Winery, while also increasing capacity for agricultural servicing in the Bella Vista and Swan Lake areas.
A truck route detour will be in place on Bella Vista Road and 41st Street until further notice. Vehicles over 5,500 kg are being asked to detour along Bella Vista Road to access Tronson Road beyond the construction zone. To reach Bella Vista Road from 25th Ave, use 41st Street for detour access.
All other traffic, including cyclist traffic, is being detoured at Tronson and Palmer roads for traffic east of the construction zone, and Bella Vista Road and Lakeridge Drive for traffic west of the construction zone.
Motorists should allow for extra time to travel, and all construction signage should be obeyed. Kinsmen Beach will remain accessible to park users.
