A significant donation from Sicamous council will have double the impact for the Eagle Valley Community Support Society (EVCSS) through its Matching Funds Campaign with support from SASCU Credit Union.
At the Aug. 14 council meeting, Coun. Siobhan Rich introduced a motion to donate $5,000 to the campaign, with all contributions matched dollar for dollar by SASCU up to a maximum of $16,000.
The motion carried, but with the stipulation that chief financial officer Bianca Colonna request and review the society's financials before transferring the funds.
Coun. Pam Beech recused herself from the discussion and vote due to conflict of interest as president of the EVCSS.
