A man is in custody and facing charges related to a Sidney robbery earlier this year.
Troy Burton, 37, faces charges of robbery and possession of stolen property.
The charges stem from a March 24 incident when RCMP was called for a bank robbery at 2355 Beacon Ave.
A suspect entered the bank, approached the teller, and produced a note which demanded cash, police said at the time. The individual left with the money and was last seen walking south toward Bevan Avenue.
Sidney/North Saanich RCMP, Central Saanich Police Service and the RCMP Police Dog Service responded but did not locate a suspect.
“Sidney/North Saanich RCMP would like to extend their appreciation to the many members of the Sidney community, particularly the local businesses and their employees, whose support, cooperation and assistance were integral in our ability to solve this serious incident,” RCMP said in a May 9 news release, saying the charges were laid in April.
