The Chilliwack Giants are rallying ahead of an exciting football season, and asking for a little community support.
The organization is looking for coaches across all their age groups, in both their flag and tackle programs. In the call out for coaches, they note that it's a perfect role for anyone who is a football fan, enjoys mentoring youth, or is looking to give back to the community. There is no experience necessary, as the organization provided full training and support to help coaches and players succeed.
They are also fundraising to upgrade their TriCaster video system, a critical took that powers their high-quality online game broadcasts. The system helps broadcast out to families, friends and fans near and far, ensuring the teams get the full support they deserve.
They are asking people who want to help send e-transfers to: payments@chilliwackgiants.com, using the password 'Giants.'
There have been a few improvements already underway for the Giants, including a new turf field at Townsend Park that was finished last season. The organization notes in a recent press release that they "proud to celebrate" the project's completion, and want to "extend our heartfelt thanks to the City of Chilliwack for its ongoing investment in youth sports."
They also announced that construction is now underway on brand-new public washroom facilities, as well as building upgrades to the exterior and concession area at Townsend. Both of these upgrades were made possible through the city’s continued support, the Giants said.
"These improvements significantly enhance the experience for players, coaches, and families alike, marking a major step forward in promoting youth athletics in our community," the release stated. "With the city’s partnership and the strength of our incredible community, the Chilliwack Giants continue to grow as a proud hub of youth development, teamwork, and local pride."
