100 Mile House RCMP responded to 65 calls for service last week.

On October 25, 2023, RCMP were advised of a male suffering from a gunshot wound to his arm. Police spoke with the male and after investigation, it was determined that he had likely mishandled his firearm and accidentally discharged it causing injury to himself while out hunting in a rural area.

Although the potential for serious injury or worse could have occurred during this incident, the injuries sustained were believed to be non-life-threatening. The male was treated at 100 Mile House Hospital and released. The investigation is ongoing.

On October 27, 2023, RCMP received a report of a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 24 near Bridge Lake North Road. Police attended with Fire Departments from Interlakes and BC EHS. A vehicle was found partially overturned off the roadway in the ditch.

Five occupants were inside the vehicle, three of whom sustained injuries. Two occupants were transported to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops and another was taken to the hospital in 100 Mile House. Injuries to all are believed to be non-life-threatening. Alcohol or drugs were ruled out as a contributing cause. Speed relative to the conditions of the road are believed to have been a factor.

On October 28, 2023, RCMP received a report of mischief and theft of fuel to a parked Grader situated on Wavey Lake Forest Service Road. The grader had been vandalized and fuel taken. A matte black Chevrolet pickup driven by a male was observed in the area speeding away from the location and heading east on Highway 24. The incident is believed to have occurred at approximately 7:00 p.m.

On October 28, 2023, RCMP received a report of a single vehicle rollover on Horse Lake Road near Ryall Road. Police attended and found the driver had fled the scene, but information from the public alerted Police to the identity of the driver.

Police then received a report from the registered owner of the vehicle stating the vehicle had been stolen. Police located the registered owner who was in fact the driver of the vehicle at the time of the collision. Police arrested the driver for public mischief (making a false report) and determined through breath testing using an approved screening device that alcohol impairment was a factor.

The driver was issued an immediate roadside prohibition for 90 days, his vehicle was impounded for 30 days, and he was charged for failing to remain at the scene of an accident, driving without due care and attention, and having liquor open in a motor vehicle.

On October 29, 2023, RCMP were advised of a mischief to a commercial building on the 500 block of Birch Avenue. Between 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., a blue and white Chevrolet truck was observed doing a burnout in the gravel parking lot at this location. Rocks thrown from the tires broke two windows as a result, as well as paint damage to a parked vehicle.

On October 30, 2023, RCMP received a report of a theft of an enclosed trailer and snowmobile from the 8700 block of Boultbee Road. Sometime during the day, an enclosed trailer with BC license plate WEV 98M was taken from the property.

The trailer has “Greenlee.com” written on the side in white lettering. The snowmobile taken is described as a 2015 Yamaha Nytro. There is information to suspect that an older black Chevrolet pickup was observed leaving the property with the trailer.

On October 30, 2023, RCMP received a report of a break and enter to a residence on the 7000 block of Thomas Road. Sometime over the previous two weeks the residence was entered. Food, jewellery, and a firearm and ammunition were taken.
