Quesnel sees slight increase in property sales in first half of 2025

The average price across the Northern B.C. region in the second quarter is up 9.8 per cent

Real estate sales in Quesnel are on the rise.

On July 10, the BC Northern Real Estate Board (BCNREB) released its first half report for 2025, and for Quesnel, sales were slighter higher than the previous year.

From Jan. 1 to June 30, 167 properties sales were finalized, totalling $57.3 million. Through the first six months in 2024, 146 sales were made, worth $55 million.

Of the 167 properties so far this year, 67 of them were single-family homes, half of them for less than $380,000. Additionally, these homes took on average 37 days to sell.

There were also 26 parcels of vacant land, 30 homes on acreage, 13 manufactured homes in parks and 14 manufactured homes on land sold in the first six months of 2025.

As of June 30, there are 290 properties (all types) available for purchase in the Quesnel area.

For the while Northern BC region, 2,345 properties have been sold in the first six months of 2025, totalling $1 billion. That is 64 more properties than last year.

There is also a slight increase in available properties to buy in the region, despite a slower second quarter.

"[The] housing market activity was 6.2 per cent below historical averages and 2.1 per cent below the level of Q2 2024," stated BCNREB in a press release.

Yet, the average sale price in the area rose to $455,243, which is 9.8 per cent above the previous quarter.
