100 Mile House RCMP responded to 83 calls for service.
On Oct. 18, 2023, BC Highway Patrol and 100 Mile House RCMP conducted speed enforcement and a check stop on Canim-Hendrix Lake Road near Buffalo Creek Road. Twenty vehicles were stopped for various motor vehicle act violations. In total, six violation tickets and fifteen warnings were issued during a three-hour period.
On Oct. 19, 2023, RCMP received a report of a disturbance involving a firearm being pointed at a person on the 4000 block of Timothy Lake Road. Upon attendance, it was determined an adult female had pointed a pellet gun at another person, both of whom are known to each other. The female was arrested for pointing a firearm and released for a court appearance at a later date.
On Oct. 20, 2023, RCMP received a report of a break and enter to a residential garage on the 3000 block of Wright Station Road. A pressure washer, various Dewalt and Snap-On tools, dog food and meat from a freezer were taken. The exact time period when this is believed to have occurred is not known.
On Oct. 20, 2023, RCMP were called to a report of a workplace incident on Canim-Hendrix Lake Road near Eagle Creek Road. Upon attendance, it was determined a low bed trailer ramp had fallen on a male causing what is believed to be serious injuries. The male was transported to hospital by EHS with undetermined internal injuries that are believed to be non-life threatening. Worksafe BC has been advised of the incident and will have conduct of the investigation.
On Oct. 23, 2023, RCMP were advised of an RV that was on fire at the Valentine Lake Rec Site. RCMP attended to find a large motorhome fully engulfed. The fire is believed to have started in the kitchen area and the owner of the RV escaped without injury. BC Wildfire was advised of the incident.
On Oct. 24, 2023, RCMP were called to a single vehicle collision on Highway 97 at Saunders Crescent. Upon attendance, it was found that the driver of the vehicle inadvertently veered off the highway onto the turn lane then over the embankment. The occupants received what are believed to be minor injuries as a result of the incident.
