The BC SPCA is offering summer camps for kids at their Castlegar shelter location throughout July and August. Space is still available and there is even a promo code to get you $20 off registration.
BC SPCA says its youth programs are places for animal-loving kids to play, learn and become empowered to make a difference. Their goal is to provide a fun and educational experience to every camper.
The 2025 camp season includes themes of pet care, farm animal welfare, wildlife conservation, and environmental considerations. Each day includes outdoor activities, group learning, guest speakers, crafts, Take Action projects, and animal time.
Most of the camps begin at 9:30 or 10 a.m. and end at 2 or 3 p.m.
In addition to the local in-person camps, SPCA is also offering virtual programming that is province-wide.

Mini Camp/All About Animals Camp/Junior Camp:
A BC SPCA camp experience for kids that love animals! Campers will explore animal themes through games, crafts, take-action projects and guest speakers. Learn about what animals want, being a voice for animals everywhere and how the BCSPCA makes a difference.
Mini Camp - ASD Friendly:
A BC SPCA camp experience for all of our neurodivergent friends who love animals. Campers will explore the wonderful world of animals in a way that fits them. That means a smaller group, lower staff-to-camper ratio and adjustments to activities. Campers who need extra support can even bring an assistant or family member along.
Habitat Heroes Camp:
Join us this summer for Habitat Heroes, a two-day workshop helping youth discover how they can get involved in supporting local wildlife to thrive. Hands on projects, activities, and nature exploration will show campers how animals contribute to our ecosystems and what we can do to help them. Become a youth animal ambassador and help the BC SPCA in making a difference for all animals.
Careers with Animals Camp:
Ever thought about working with animals? Calling all youth who want to explore animal careers within the BC SPCA and beyond!. This program introduces youth to the world of working with animals through fun activities, games, guest speakers and meeting suitable shelter animals. Learn how you can work for a positive future for all animals in your community.
